My practice is an exploration into the amalgamation of form, colour and illusion. Working in the realms of sculpture and painting I create minimal colour compositions which not only interrogate the relationship between the two mediums but also fuses the two together to create formal arrangements.

I’m interested in the juxtaposition between the real and the artificial. I use a plethora of synthetic and natural materials within my work to comment on how we perceive the partnership of different colourings and material characteristics within our reading of the artworks.

My compositions influence two materials into a playful personification through my use of titling in order to tease the curiosity of the viewer into exploring the role of the medium within the art work. Currently interested in creating a sense of magic and suspense within my practice, I’m making a body of work which plays with precarious structural arrangements made from materials which are not what they appear to be.
